Losing Papou

Losing Papou

If you have or know a young child who has recently lost a parent or grandparent, then you know how difficult it is to explain death to them. It’s almost impossible without using stories and pictures which help children understand, in their terms, what death and the loss of a loved one is all about. Several years ago I suddenly lost my father, and had three young children to whom I had to explain the loss of their grandfather (we are Greek, and “Papou” is grandfather in Greek). I could not find the right book, so I wrote it. If you are grieving the loss of a family member or close friend, and have young children who need to understand, then maybe “Losing Papou” can help you.
